TKR is proud to be coached by some of the most dedicated, decorated, and knowledgeable individuals in the skating community. Each coach brings a wealth of experience, not only as accomplished skaters themselves but also as competitors and mentors. This team is committed to developing the next generation of speedskaters. Their unique blend of technical expertise and love for the sport ensures that every skater on our team receives personalized coaching tailored to their individual strengths and goals. Together they propel our skaters achieve their personal best and reach the next-level of competition.
Mike Fortner
Head Coach
With over 20 years of experience in Roller Sports coaching, Coach Mike has played a pivotal role in the success of some of the nation's top speed skating teams and athletes. He has coached on the U.S. World Tour and led several nationally recognized inline skate teams, guiding skaters to achieve regional, national, and international victories.
As a competitor, Coach Mike is a multi-time Indoor and Outdoor National Champion. Notably, he completed the grueling 87-mile Athens to Atlanta (A2A) race in 1997 and claimed victory in the A2A 38-mile race in 2013.
Justin Sterling
Technical & Strategy Coach
Justin Sterling is a notable figure in the world of inline speed skating, representing the United States in various national and international competitions. Throughout his career, Sterling has achieved significant success, consistently performing at high levels in competitive events. His contributions to the sport have earned him recognition within the inline skating community.
Justin has competed in numerous prestigious races, securing top positions in events such as the U.S. Roller Speed Skating Championships.
He joins TKR's coaching staff focusing on our athlete's technical performance and competition strategy.

Bob Easton is an internationally respected figure in the world of speed skating, known for his dedication to the sport both as a competitor and as a mentor. Throughout his career, Bob has led some of the most decorated skating teams in the world. He's coached athletes at the national and international level. His commitment to excellence and passion for speed skating have left a lasting impact on the skating community, earning him recognition and respect from peers and skaters alike.
Bob focuses on coaching TKR's skaters in their athletic conditioning, endurance, and technical performance.
